Emirates will launch a brand-new Dubai-Bogotá route this year, connecting the UAE with the Columbian city for the first time. This expands the Middle Eastern carrier’s South American network to four gateways and 19 points across the Americas.

The new daily Dubai-Bogotá service on a Boeing B777-300ER aircraft will commence on 3 June 2024 and establishes a historic link between the Middle Eastern region and the northern part of South America to the continent’s second most-populated city.

It connects Dubai and Bogotá via Miami with EK set to be the first airline to offer premium services on the popular route between south Florida and Colombia.

Due to Bogotá’s high altitude, it is not possible to operate a non-stop flight from Dubai, making a stopover necessary. Miami was selected due to its tourism and trade links with Bogotá.

Emirates’ entry into Bogotá expands its South American network, complementing its scheduled services to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires.

The daily flights will cater to growing air travel demand between Colombia and the UAE and between the South American country to Emirates’ global network of 78 destinations that are not served directly from Bogotá, expanding the inbound connections to Columbia.

Emirates Airline President Sir Tim Clark said: “The addition of Bogotá to our network is part of our strategy to deliver better connectivity, expand options and choice for travellers and provide unparalleled premium experiences on the ground and in the air.”

“There is a huge demand for travel to and from Bogotá and we can’t wait for customers to experience Emirates’ signature products and services on the flights between Bogotá and Dubai as well as between Bogotá and Miami.”

Emirates will also increase services from Australia to Dubai and beyond to Europe in 2024.
