Whether you’re wanting to go shark diving, explore one of three capital cities, stay in a 5-star boutique lodge or experience local culture, you’re going to have to save a little extra for your flight.

That’s because fares to South Africa are on the rise, but only for those living on the East Coast of Australia.

South African Airways advised of a three percent increase of airfares this week, but only for travellers flying from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane.

That’s right Western & Northern Australians, you are NOT affected.

The extra three percent will be added to South African Airways Retail, Wholesale IT and Corporate airfare levels from 3 July 2018.

Agents have been advised that the new airfare level will appear in their GDS from 3 July and all existing un-ticketed bookings must be issued on or before 2 July 2018 to avoid any increase on fares.

A South African Airways Spokesperson told KARRYON that the fare rise is relatively normal and necessary for the carrier to increase yield on East Coast flights.
