The airline group’s managing director and chief executive Stefan Pichler was pleased at the performance, adding the airline will continue its focus of maintaining OTP above 80 percent for 2015.

“We had some minor mechanical issues with a couple of our B737 aircraft later in the year, along with a handful of operational-related factors which contributed to some disruptions, but we’re committed to providing our customers the best service whilst at the same time ensuring we do not waiver from our priority of safety.”

OTP is a global airline industry benchmark which measures aircraft flight departures as being on time if they depart from the gate within 15 minutes of the airline’s scheduled departure time.

Australian airlines Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin also exceeded industry standard. Click here for more information.
