Fiji Airways was flying high on Facebook yesterday when its social media team shared a picture of an all-female flight crew, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to girl power.

The picture of the six ladies – two pilots and four flights attendants – was shared with the caption: “A rare special occasion indeed! One of our first all-female flight crew”.

Less than 24 hours after posting, the image has received over 7,000 likes on Fiji Airway’s page along with 603 shares and over 240 comments.

KarryOn re-posted the pic on our wall and it received a further 540 likes.

There was a lot of love for the airline’s commitment to female staff, with some saying they hope the ladies are in charge on their next Fiji Airways flight.

Kim tagged her friend in and said: we need to get on their flight, back to see our friends on Beqa Island, while Hichem recalled the “simply amazing” experience she had with the ladies.

Renee cheered on Captain Saumi, saying “sa yawa! Go Fiji Airways” and Api praised the women on their “gorgeous” looks before wishing them a “safe flight”.

There was even a little love on Twitter with tweets like:
