Marking a menu milestone, Aussie chef Neil Perry has racked up a 25-year collab with Qantas on its inflight and lounge offerings, serving as the airline’s Director of Food, Beverage and Service since 1997 – the longest partnership between a chef and a carrier.

For the silver anniversary partnership celebration, Qantas has reintroduced a selection of the most popular inflight and lounge menu items from the past 25 years.

Throughout November across Qantas First Lounges in Australia, retro classics will include crab and sweet pork salad with green mango and nam jim dressing, duck ragú with pappardelle and tort di Verona, along with a Negroni Sbagliato cocktail.

A range of the chef’s fave dishes will also be available for a limited time in Qantas’ domestic and international Business lounges, such as a meatball sandwich, kung pao chicken bao and BBQ prawns.

The celeb chef plated up an exquisite menu for a select coterie of the airline’s team, trade partners and media – including Karryon – at the Qantas International First Lounge at T1 Sydney Airport on 25 October.

Mr Perry said Qantas had constantly evolved its food and beverage offering to meet the changing tastes of Australians.

“Over time, it’s been fantastic to see a broader curiosity around international cuisines and plant-based dining as well as a growing focus on sustainability,” he said.
