The first direct Perth Rex flights connecting Australia’s east and west coasts commence today, marking the airline’s inaugural services to the WA capital with a 72-hour sale introducing Melbourne-Perth and Adelaide-Perth one-way flights from $149.
Four flight firsts will take off on 28 June 2024 and Rex hopes its new Perth services from Melbourne and Adelaide will herald a new era of competitive fares to WA with checked bags and refreshments included.
The Australian Airports Association confirmed last week that Rex’s initial domestic sale fares to Perth were the cheapest in almost 15 years, while its standard fares were the lowest in a decade.

Rex Chair John Sharp thanked passengers travelling on the inaugural Perth Rex flights and urged Australians to “give Rex a go” as it delivered more competition in the skies.
“This is a milestone moment for Rex and one our amazing staff have worked so hard towards since our first domestic service roared down the runway just a few years ago,” he said.
“On behalf of Rex Airlines, I want to thank the three state governments and each of the airports and tourism bodies who got behind us but especially, I wish to thank our passengers.”

The first Perth-Adelaide Rex flight takes off at 11:55am today followed by Adelaide to Perth at 5pm, Melbourne to Perth at 8:15pm and a Perth-Melbourne flight at 11:55pm.
Rex will operate its thrice-weekly Adelaide-Perth route on Embraer E-190 aircraft, operated by National Jet Express (NJE) and the five-weekly return Melbourne-Perth flights on Boeing 737-800s.
