British Airways and 2022 Airline of the Year Qatar Airways have formed the world’s largest joint airline business, offering an industry-leading network of 185 destinations to provide travellers with even more enhanced connectivity on a global scale.

British Airways and 2022 Airline of the Year Qatar Airways have formed the world’s largest joint airline business, offering an industry-leading network of 185 destinations to provide travellers with even more enhanced connectivity on a global scale.

The collaboration will see passengers enjoy access to more schedules and price points as well as greater choice in direct and connecting flights on single tickets via hubs in London and Doha.

It’s the final step in the airlines’ partnership expansion that adds 42 new countries to the shared network, including Italy, the Maldives, Norway, Singapore and Sweden, offering unrivalled access to more than 60 countries in Europe and the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Oceania.

The complementary networks provide unique access to dozens of countries and more cities that no other alliance or joint business offers.

Customers can link their Qatar Airways Privilege Club and British Airways Executive Club accounts to transfer Avios, the common currency, and combine balances to claim rewards.

The collaboration also offers access to both airlines’ exclusive lounges and cabins, including British Airways’ new Club Suite and Qatar Airways’ award-winning Qsuite.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said: “The joint business cements Qatar Airways and British Airways as industry leaders, aiming to provide the utmost flexibility and unrivalled connectivity to our customers.”

British Airways CEO and Chairman Sean Doyle said the announcement is a huge milestone in the airline’s long-standing relationship with Qatar Airways.

“From idyllic holiday hotspots, such as the Maldives and Thailand, to business hubs such as Singapore, we are pleased to open up the world as the travel industry continues to make steps towards its recovery.”
