Aussie low-cost carrier Bonza welcomed Sheila, the third Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in its fledgling fleet, as the plane touched down at Sunshine Coast Airport yesterday, completing the airline’s initial lineup for launch.
Sheila’s arrival completes the Sunshine Coast base’s fleet trio, which will progressively take to the skies, subject to Bonza’s regulatory approval.
Shazza is the LCC’s first aircraft, unveiled in early August, followed by the debut of Bazza in late October. Bonza CCO Carly Povey said all three aircraft were named by the airline’s “purple army of fans on social media”, referencing the brand’s distinctive colour.

“Sheila completes our family of aircraft at Sunshine Coast Airport as we prepare to get wheels up from Bonza’s backyard on the Sunny Coast,” Ms Povey said.
“Our next two aircraft will be based at our second home, Melbourne Airport,” she said, adding that more details about the Melbourne-based fleet would be shared in the new year.
While respecting the regulatory process, the airline continues with its readiness activities in anticipation of connecting communities through low-cost flights.
