COMFY: Qatar Airways' new Economy Class will have extra legroom & less plastic

Qatar Airways is providing "the very finest experience" to passengers in all classes, the airline's CEO explained while unveiling the carrier's new & improved Economy Class seats.

Qatar Airways is providing “the very finest experience” to passengers in all classes, the airline’s CEO explained while unveiling the carrier’s new & improved Economy Class seats.

Akbar Al Baker told attendees at ITB Berlin that the new Economy Class design was created to ensure all passengers arrive at their destinations “feeling rested and refreshed”.

Separating the new seats from the old (or current), Qatar Airways is giving Economy Class flyers additional legroom.

Although the carrier didn’t specify how much extra legroom flyers will receive, it did reveal that seat recline would also be enhanced to 19-degrees.

Other changes that’ll deliver the “finest” inflight Economy experience will be the addition of in-seat USB ports, 4k widescreen in-flight entertainment, 10-times faster broadband and more than 4,000 entertainment options.

“Our new economy class seat, with its redesigned recline system and additional leg room, will ensure that our passengers arrive at their destinations feeling rested and refreshed.”
