Taking over the former international area at Gold Coast Airport (OOL), the new domestic lounge revealed its refreshed look over the weekend after a $17 million refurb that includes more than 300 extra seats and 19 new retail, food and beverage venues.
The initial upgrades feature new flooring, improved wayfinding and 70 additional flight information display boards to help travellers get around the new lounge.
New F&B outlets include the just-opened Beach Shack Bar & Grill, Schnitz, Merlo Coffee Roasters, Social Espresso, Paradox Coffee Roaster & Bar, Artisan Kitchen & Bakery and The Sand Bar, showcasing the area’s craft breweries and distilleries.

On the retail side, travellers can browse new stores such as Heinemann Domestic, Amcal+ Express and WHSmith.
Further refurbishment works to be completed by the end of October will include another six retail outlets plus new flooring and more flight info display screens.

It flows on from accessibility improvements, which now include a new Changing Places facility to accommodate travellers with a disability and their families and carers.
Queensland Airports Limited COO Marion Charlton said the latest upgrades will bring the domestic terminal in line with the international terminal, which moved to the southern end in 2022 after a $260 million expansion.
“Over the past four years, Gold Coast Airport has undergone the largest transformation in its history and these latest works are a continuation of that with even more upgrades to come,” she said.
