Victorians, grab your winter gear & dust off the skis because Qantas is launching a new direct service between Melbourne & New Zealand’s ski capital of Queenstown.
The seasonal service will commence on 21 June and run through to 27 August 2019 on Qantas’ Boeing 737 aircraft.
Running three times weekly (Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays), the Flying Kangaroo said the new route will offer more than 10,000 seats on the route over the winter peak and will increase the Qantas Group’s Queenstown services to 36 per week.

Qantas International’s Chief Executive, Alison Webster, said Queenstown is in strong demand from Melburnians who, along with other Australians, are increasingly crossing the Tasman during the winter.
“These new flights from Melbourne will allow Victorians to fly direct, maximising the time they have on the slopes and to explore everything else this beautiful destination has to offer.”
Alison Webster, Qantas International Chief Executive
The Flying Kangaroo is celebrating the seasonal service with special $269 one-way Economy fares and $599 one-way in Business from Melbourne to Queenstown. Click here for more information. Sale ends 11 March 2019.
