Had a bad airport experience? Tell your story on TripAdvisor

Travellers that have exhausted their opinions on hotels, restaurants and attractions can now have their say on the world's biggest airports.

Travellers that have exhausted their opinions on hotels, restaurants and attractions can now have their say on the world’s biggest airports.

TripAdvisor today unveiled its first dedicated airport pages, giving holidaymakers access to the ‘truth’ (it’s somebody’s truth) about their favourite (or least favourite) gateways.

Kicking off with Changi Airport, TripAdvisor is aiming to feature content for some 200 major airports around the world.

To access the dedicated pages, users search for an airport and click through to the page. There they will have access to user reviews and other information such as nearby hotels, restaurants and attractions.

Various amenities available at the gateway including duty free stores, boutiques and airport lounges will also be listed on the page.

Adam Medros, TripAdvisor Senior Vice President, Global Product said the new pages will give travellers easy access to ‘things to do’ while they’re waiting for their flight.

“With the launch of airport pages, not only will travellers have access to airport information at their fingertips, but businesses will also be able to market themselves directly to travellers worldwide searching on TripAdvisor.”

Airport

Changi Airport is the first airport in the world with hundreds of its amenities listed on TripAdvisor. Other major airports including John F. Kennedy International Airport and London Heathrow Airport will be launched by July 2015.

Australian airports that will feature on TripAdvisor include Sydney’s Kingsford Smith Airport, Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport, Brisbane Airport, Perth Airport, Adelaide Airport, Gold Coast Airport, Canberra Airport, Cairns Airport, Launceston Airport and Townsville Airport.

Travellers will be able to use the “Near Me Now” feature on the TripAdvisor mobile app to find amenities nearby through the smartphone’s GPS when they are at the airport.
