The silly season is fast approaching and Virgin Australia is getting into the holiday mood with some important information for guests and a few quirky factual gifts.

First and foremost, Virgin Australia is hoping to minimise holiday delays with an extra 150 flights operating to its busiest destinations over the peak period.

The additional silly season services will operate on both domestic and international routes to cater to demand as the airline prepares to fly nearly two million passengers to 58 destinations during December alone.

These extra services will definitely come in handy on the airline’s third busiest days of the year, which just happens to be two days before Christmas Day!

While most people are at home preparing for the merry 24 hours with family and friends, around 70,000 others will spend 23 December departing or coming home with Virgin Australia.

70,000 people! Go Virgin!

Over Christmas Day, Virgin Australia’s lounge guests will be served a Christmas spread of roast turkey, cranberry sauce, marmalade glazed leg ham and warm mini fruit puddings with brandy custard.

The airline will also serve more than 4,500 herb-roasted Turkey meals, while 7,000 bottles of bubbly on aircraft flying over the festive period, while Business Class guests will enjoy nearly 12,000 gingerbread stars and 1,000 hot herb-roasted Turkey meals with chestnut stuffing and vegetables.
