Gold, white leather and marble. That’s the opulent décor theme you will discover inside Vladimir Putin’s $700 million flagship jet which arrived in the Finnish capital, Helsinki, this week ahead of his meeting with Donald Trump.
The Russian president’s jet is a wide-bodied, long-haul airliner looks relatively unremarkable from the exterior, but step inside and you will uncover the kind of luxury you rarely find inside an aircraft.
I mean seriously, you could take your entire holiday in this jet which looks more like a five-star hotel than a machine built for flying.
Forget sky couches and lie flat seats, Putin has his own spacious bedroom fitted out with a king-sized bed and large ensuite bathroom.
The jet also boasts a lavish conference room and kitchenette so that the president can host meetings and be fed.
If Putin feels like working up a sweat he can always head across to his on board gym to work out. As you do.
Putin’s jet made by the Voronezh Aircraft Production Association and can reach speeds of up to 901 km per hour.
Interestingly, the Russian president actually has a squad of four planes to choose from for security reasons.
As soon as knowledge of an international flight is public, all four aircraft are get ready for departure but the specific plane to be used by Putin is not known until take off. Sneaky, huh?
After the choice is made, either one or all three of the remaining planes follow the president as the reserve.
We hope you don’t spend too much time reflecting on Putin’s ride next time you’re stuck in Economy Class.
