Is this the best advert for Vietnam Airlines ever?

An astonishing video clip shows Vietnam Airlines’ new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner stun the world with a jaw-dropping vertical jumbo stunt.

An astonishing video clip shows Vietnam Airlines’ new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner stun the world with a jaw-dropping vertical jumbo stunt.

In a video posted on the verified account of Boeing on YouTube, the Vietnam Airlines 787-9 performs a mind-blowing “rocket-like” takeoff that is almost vertical.

The video has already clocked up more than 7 million views.

“Some of what you’re seeing on takeoff is a trick of perspective. It looks like the takeoff is at a near vertical 90-degree angle – trust me it’s not.”

B767 pilot Patrick Smith told CNN

Boeing released the video of the 787-9 rehearsal flight for the Paris Air Show which will held from 15-21 June where commercial jets get to act like stunt planes.

The Boeing 787-9 is the second and newest member of the 787 family. With its fuselage stretched six metres longer than the 787-8, the 787-9 can fly more passengers and more cargo farther, yet with the same environmental efficiency – 20% less fuel use and emissions.

According to Boeing, 30 customers from around the world have ordered 509 787-9s. As of last month, that equated to 46% of all orders so far placed for B787 Dreamliners.

The Paris Air Show will run throughout this week for the trade and will open to the public from this Friday.
