Bonza bonanza! LCC celebrates ’24 with 24,000 cheap seats

The Aussie airline industry’s answer to Alf Stewart, Bonza, has kicked off 2024 on a bargain blitz. And what better way to incorporate 2024 into the sale? Pop 24,000 seats on sale for $59 or less. That’s one way, per person, for travel to and from the Gold Coast until 31 January 2024.

This marks the first time Bonza has introduced a sale of this scale, featuring discounts of up to 50% on selected flights until 7 January 2024, or until seats are sold out.

The discounted flights cover routes between the Gold Coast and Cairns, Mackay, Mt Isa, Rockhampton, Townsville, Whitsunday Coast, Albury, Launceston, Melbourne (Avalon), Melbourne (Tullamarine), and Mildura.

“This is a great opportunity for travellers to take advantage of this sale and make the most of summer 2024 by seeing somewhere new this month,” Tim Jordan, CEO of Bonza said.

“The festive season is often a busy and expensive time for most of us, so affordable air travel allows people to reward themselves by getting away for some much deserved down time.”

Jordan used the sale to reminisce about the airline’s 2023 feat of connecting over 650,000 Aussies to destinations across the nation.

And anticipating the ongoing economic challenges, he assured more deals throughout 2024, reinforcing Bonza’s commitment to keeping air travel costs down even when the cost of living goes up.

“We expect that the Bonza Effect will bring considerable savings to domestic travellers this coming year and we’re proud to continue delivering opportunities for more of us to see more of Australia,” he said.

Gold Coast update

Late last month, the airline received regulatory approval for two new aircraft to commence flights in and out of the Gold Coast after having to defer flights out of its Gold Coast base.

“We know it’s been a challenging time for some of our customers who were unable to fly and to them we say we’re really sorry and we’ll learn from this and do better to deliver for Australia,” Jordan said.

“Now that we have approval for the two additional aircraft we’re scaling up our operations and servicing our new routes from our Gold Coast base.”

Bonza runs services to/from Gold Coast to 14 destinations across Australia including: Albury, Bundaberg, Cairns, Darwin, Gladstone, Launceston, Mackay, Melbourne (Avalon), Melbourne (Tullamarine), Mount Isa, Mildura, Rockhampton, Townsville and the Whitsunday Coast.

In the short term, Bonza will use the two aircraft leased from partner airline Flair to service the Gold Coast base whilst its other aircraft continue to fly thousands of customers to their destinations from the airline’s Sunshine Coast and Melbourne bases.
