All Nippon Airways (ANA) has rolled out its highly anticipated R2-D2 ANA jet – the first of three aircraft to be completely decked out in Star Wars-theme.

Emerging from the Seattle factory this week, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner livery and in-flight design are entirely inspired by the franchise’s popular robot R2-D2.

It’s practically a ‘Dreamliner’ come true for Star Wars fans.

Seating 215-passengers the first aircraft is scheduled to commence operations on the Tokyo to Vancouver route from 18 October this year.

In addition to sporting R2-D2’s blue and white uniform, seat headrests are imprinted with the robotic good guy’s paneling.

Also in a bid to promote the forthcoming Star Wars flick ‘The Force Awakens’, passengers will be able to watch all six previous movies – the first time any of the films have been available inflight.

After its initial flight to Tokyo, the aircraft will then be used on services from Japan to European and US cities as well as flights to Australia.

The next Star Wars aircraft will be inspird by BB-8 – a new character from the upcomign movie. This will be followed by another R2-D2 aircraft arriving in March next year.
