Adelaide is not only opening up to the world, it’s also opening up domestically with Jetstar announcing new direct flights from Adelaide to the Sunshine Coast.
The announcement of the new flight comes less than three weeks after the City of Churches welcomed its first direct service to Qatar through Qatar Airways.
Commencing on 30 September this year, it will be the first direct Adelaide-Sunshine Coast connection since 2008 and will operate three times weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
According to Adelaide Airport Managing Director, Mark Young, it will represent 56,000 seats, giving South Australians easy access to popular holiday destinations such as Noosa, Maroochydore and Mooloolooba.
“The service will also connect the significant number of friends and families who live in the two regions.”

Jetstar Airways Head of Commercial and Operations Improvement, Carly Povey, explained that direct Sunshine Coast services from Melbourne and Sydney were performing well and she was confident the new Adelaide-Sunshine Coast service would be similarly well supported.
“The Sunshine Coast is one of our most popular leisure destinations and we’re sure Adelaide holidaymakers, as well as Queensland tourism operators, will warmly welcome today’s announcement that a low fares airline option is now available on the route.” she said.
