Jetstar is turning up the K-factor, launching daily flights from Sydney to Seoul from 17 June 2025. Whether you’re chasing BTS tour dates, stocking up on sheet masks in Myeong-dong, or planning a K-drama pilgrimage, the airline’s expanded schedule lands just in time. And kicks off with one-way fares from $269.

The low-cost airline will ramp up its Sydney–Seoul (Incheon) schedule from four flights a week to daily, increasing capacity to meet strong passenger demand. This move brings Jetstar’s annual capacity between Australia and South Korea to more than 340,000 seats, with existing three-weekly Brisbane flights continuing.

What’s new?

From 17 June 2025, Jetstar’s Sydney to Seoul route will operate daily, adding 100,000 new seats each year. Since the Sydney service launched in October 2022, more than 240,000 travellers have flown the route. The Brisbane service, which launched in February 2024, has already carried more than 100,000 passengers.

Jetstar Executive Manager, Customer, Jenn Armor, says the network expansion is driven by strong demand.

“We’ve seen strong demand for our direct flights from Sydney and Brisbane to the South Korean capital, Seoul,” Amour says.

“With the launch of daily flights from Sydney to Seoul this week, we’ll offer another 100,000 seats a year on the route, helping our customers to take off more with low fares.”

Sale fares to mark the expansion

To celebrate the expansion, Jetstar has launched a South Korea Sale with one-way fares starting at $269 from Brisbane and $309 from Sydney. The sale runs until 11.59pm AEST on Sunday 22 June 2025, unless sold out earlier.

Sample sale fares include:

  • Brisbane to Seoul (Incheon) from $269
  • Sydney to Seoul (Incheon) from $309
  • Melbourne (Avalon) to Seoul (Incheon) via Sydney from $378
  • Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Seoul (Incheon) via Sydney from $405

Travel periods vary by route but span early July 2025 through to mid-April 2026. The sale fares exclude checked baggage and are subject to payment type, with fees applicable for some methods.

Capacity and competitive edge

With this expansion, Jetstar positions itself as the largest carrier between Australia and South Korea. Its total seat offering on the route outpaces both full-service and low-cost competitors.

Jetstar’s entry into the Seoul market in 2022 added low-cost competition to a previously full-service-dominated route, making the South Korean capital more accessible to budget-conscious travellers and opening new opportunities for the trade.

Why it matters for trade

For Australian agents, the increase in low-cost seat capacity to Seoul offers:

  • More frequent departures from Sydney
  • Consistent Brisbane flights three times per week
  • Competitive price points for leisure travel
  • Broader appeal for South Korea itineraries in 2025 and 2026

Korea continues to gain traction as a destination for both first-timers and return travellers, thanks to its mix of pop culture, food, nature and shopping. With daily Jetstar services now on offer, agents may find it easier to package competitive trips that appeal to a wider market segment.
