Jetstar starts Gold Coast–Bali direct flights today; now biggest carrier out of OOL

Jetstar’s new thrice-weekly direct Gold Coast–Bali flights take off on 1 August 2025, making the low-cost carrier the first LCC to operate nonstop flights between the two popular beach destinations.

The new service will add 58,000 seats between Gold Coast and Bali each year on the airline’s new Airbus A320neos, two of which are now based at OOL.

The launch of the direct flights to DPS also marks the LCC’s largest network expansion from the GC, launching new routes to Hamilton, Dunedin and Darwin to position JQ as the largest carrier operating in and out of OOL with 17 services.

Flights will take off from OOL on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 6:15pm and land at DPS at 10:35pm. Flights from DPS will depart on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 11:45pm and arrive in OOL at 7:15am the next day.

From 30 March 2026, the flight schedule will change to Monday, Thursday and Saturday at the same departure and arrival times.

Jetstar Executive Manager, Customer Jenn Armor said the new route provided even more international choice for Gold Coast customers.  

“We’ve seen strong demand from customers living on the Gold Coast for direct international travel options, including recent trans-Tasman route launches to Hamilton and Dunedin,” she said.

“It’s clear Australians just can’t get enough of Bali, so we’re excited to launch direct flights from the Gold Coast to this beautiful Indonesian holiday island.”

Queensland Airports Limited Chief Commercial Officer Adam Rowe said the new route would provide greater choice for travellers on an already much-loved route.
