Vietjet may have only launched services in the Australian market on 9 April 2023 but the Vietnamese low-cost carrier has already announced its direct flights from Sydney and Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh City will increase from 17 September due to demand.
Vietjet will increase the frequency of flights on its Sydney and Melbourne routes to service passengers travelling between Australia and Vietnam to visit relatives, travel and study.
The airline will add flights to its nonstop Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh City route from 17 September 2023, increasing from three to four return flights weekly.
Direct flights from Sydney to Ho Chi Minh City will increase from three to four return flights weekly from 18 September 2023.
Vietjet will also commence a direct route from Brisbane to Ho Chi Minh City on 16 June 2023 with more Australian cities to follow.
Promotional fares are available on the Vietjet website every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday until 25 October 2023, including Eco Class return fares from AUD$200 on routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Australia (Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane).
The airline announced plans to increase to daily operations by December 2024 for an annual increase of 136,000 seats.
Direct flights will depart at 12:30am from Melbourne every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, landing in Ho Chi Minh City at 6:30am (local time).
Flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Melbourne will depart at 10:55am every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, landing in Melbourne at 10:35pm.
Direct flights will depart at 11:15am from Sydney every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, landing in Ho Chi Minh City at 4:30pm (local time).
Flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Sydney will depart at 7:30pm every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, landing in Sydney at 7:20am.
