She may be a stowaway, but the bird who recently hitched a ride from Singapore to London is still a classy chick, choosing to fly Business Class all the way.
Yes, this is a true story. A myna bird, without a passport nor a ticket was caught red clawed, on a Singapore Airlines flight headed to London’s Heathrow Airport last week.
Business Class passengers didn’t even spot the clever avian stowaway until around 12 hours into 14 hour flight. Well played birdie.
A passenger captured the video above which has since gone viral on Facebook with the cheeky note: “even little birdie knows Singapore Airlines is a great way to fly to London.”
Once the story broke, a Singapore Airlines spokesperson confirmed that the tale was indeed true.
“A bird was found on flight SQ322 last Monday (January 7),” they said.
“It was subsequently caught by cabin crew with the assistance of some of the passengers on board”.
Singapore Airlines said the bird was handed over to animal quarantine authorities once the aircraft touched down in London.
As to the bird’s sneaky tactics for getting on the flight, and into Business Class for that matter, without a ticket…We’re still following up on that.
