Malaysia Airlines has unveiled new Business Class seats for its A330-300 aircraft that give Iggy Azalea a run for her money in the ‘fancy’ department.
Coming in 2016, the upgraded seating is part of the airline’s ‘long road to recovery‘ designed to bring the business back into the black (profits).
So far, the airline transformation has included closing less frequented lounges and reducing its network to focus on providing improved services on profitable routes.
That’s where the new A330-300 Business Class seats come in.
According to the carrier’s CEO, Giving business travellers increased comfort and more entertainment will increase its competitive edge against other full-service carriers.
“[It’s] part of the airline’s push to be more customer centric, offering new, personalized and innovative products.”
Christoph Mueller, Malaysia Airlines CEO
So what’s so great about the new seats?
They have a seat pitch measuring at 43 inches and a width of 20.6 inches and length of 76 inches (fully flat) – this is one of the best received business class seats in the industry.
They come with increased working space with 90 percent of all seats having direct aisle access due to the 1-2-1 and 1-2-2 seat layout, with extra stowage space for personal items.
Each seat is equipped with a Panasonic 16-inch touch screen inflight entertainment system and every aspect of the new product has been carefully designed with the passenger’s comfort and needs in mind.
“The new seats and configuration have been designed to give a superb space for work, play or sleep.”
Christoph Mueller, Malaysia Airlines CEO
“All of our A330 business class seats will now feature fully flat beds allowing our guests the ultimate in comfort and versatility.”
The new Business Class seats will roll out across all 15 A330-300 aircraft from April next year.
