Air crash expert says "MH370 was flown into the water"

Malaysia Airlines’ Flight MH370 has been to subject of various rumours and theories since it mysteriously disappeared over two years ago while travelling between Kuala Lumpur and Beijing.

Unsurprisingly, everyone wants to know what happened to the 777-200ER and the 227 passengers and 13 crew members on board.

Some islanders in the Maldives believe they spotted the Boeing on 8 March 2014 flying lower than most commercial aircraft; a Malaysian satellite expert claimed the plane sank in one piece in the Indian Ocean; and there’s been around four object discoveries suspected of being linked to the plane.

Air crash expert says this piece of debris suggests the plane had a controlled landing.

Now a Canadian safety expert says he’s found “definite evidence” that proves MH370 was deliberately flown into the ocean.

Larry Vance told Australia’s 60 Minutes that erosion on wing debris discovered off Reunion Island last year indicates that the plane had a controlled landing.

He said it looks as though the plane’s wing was extended, which suggests someone was in control of the aircraft moments before it went under.

“Somebody was flying the airplane at the end of its flight.”

“There is no other alternate theory that you can follow.”

Vance’s theory comes after Australian investigators, who have lead investigations into MH370’s disappearance, ruled out pilot suicide, saying that “right from the start the ATSB has assumed no pilot involvement”.

Officials said earlier this year that they intend on suspending the underwater search for MH370 once the current search area has been combed, which could be by the end of the year.
