Sunny Christmas island escape here we come! Qantas is planning to add an extra service between Sydney and Noumea to keep up with peak holiday period demand.
The additional Qantas flight will commence from 12 December 2018 and fly until March 2019, giving travellers extra seats to book during the busy time.
QF91 will depart Sydney for Noumea at 8.45am on Wednesdays, in addition to the airline’s regular Monday, Saturday and Sunday services.
With the additional service, and in combination with existing services run by Aircalin, New Caledonia’s international airline, Australians will be able to travel to New Caledonia all seven days of the week.
The new Qantas service will operate using the company’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft. It will be available for sale progressively from mid-June, 2018.
New Caledonia Tourism in Australia’s Director, Caroline Brunel, said it’s pleasing that flying to New Caledonia will be even easier for Australian, especially during the busy summer period.
According to latest figures, Australian visitation to New Caledonia has climbed by 52.7 percent in the last four years. It’s anticipated to increase again in 2019 and beyond.
