California dreamers and K-pop fans rejoice! Air New Zealand will increase capacity on two of its most popular destinations – Los Angeles and Seoul – with an additional 21,200 seats between the two routes to expand its international services from mid-August this year.
Between 15 August and 29 October 2022, Air NZ will boost its Auckland–LA Dreamliner services from seven to 10 flights per week to complement its daily Boeing 777 service.
Auckland–Seoul flights will increase from a weekly service to two per week between 12 September and 24 October 2022 and will operate on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

Air New Zealand Chief Customer Sales Officer Leanne Geraghty said the changes are a response to pent-up demand from customers travelling in both directions.
“With the New Zealand border fully opened and reduced COVID travel restrictions, customers are telling us they’re ready to travel,” Ms Geraghty said.

“With the return of international tourism, these additional flights will give customers more options and opportunities to experience the joy of travel once again.
“The extra capacity will add 33 per cent more seats on the Los Angeles route each week and double that on Seoul to ensure we meet the growing demand we’ve been seeing for travel over the last month.”
The news comes as Air NZ gears up for a busy July, relaunching 14 international routes in 16 days from Auckland and other cities to popular destinations such as Honolulu, Houston and Tahiti and adding a massive 40,000 seats per week.
