Aussie tennis sensation Nick Kyrgios has teamed up with Malaysia Airlines and Tourism Malaysia with new travel series, giving viewers a rare glimpse into how the man spends his time in KL.

A new two-part video series entitled ‘Game, Set, KL‘ has just been released that features the 30th world ranked tennis player and Australian personality Nick Kyrgios.

Hosted by the man himself, Kyrgios takes to the local tennis courts for a quick hit surrounded by delighted kids before setting off with his mother Nil as they explore the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur, including local foodie hotspots, shopping meccas, premium spas and hotels, and buzzing nightlife.

“I love the hustle and bustle of Kuala Lumpur, the city never sleeps and has some of the best food, shopping and nightlife in Asia. It’s the perfect stop-over.”

Nick Kyrgios, Australian born with a Malaysian mother, is proud of his Malay roots and associates the airline with going home:

“While I was born and brought up in Australia, I’m really proud of my family culture and very close to my Malaysian family. I’ve flown with Malaysia Airlines to visit them since I was a boy and my mum and extended family have always associated Malaysia Airlines with home.”

The video series also highlights some of the best day trips from KL. Nick takes viewers with him on his personal favourite day trips just outside the Malaysian capital, including getting up close and personal with rescued elephants at Kuala Gandah National Elephant Conservation Centre and a visit to the iconic Hindu temple and shrine at the Batu Caves.

The new collaboration with Nick is Malaysia Airlines’ second campaign with an Australian personality. Earlier this year the airline teamed up with Malaysian-born Australian artist, actress and runner-up in MasterChef Australia, Poh Ling Yeow.
