What does it take to be the ‘Best International Airline – Online’? It’s ensuring you’re working closely with industry partners and surrounding yourself with a team of “outstanding employees”.

That’s the winning combination, according to Emirates, which won the award for the fifth consecutive year at this month’s NTIA Awards.

The airline’s Divisional Vice President for Australasia, Barry Brown, said he’s “incredibly proud” of the achievement and believes it’s a testament to “providing the best experience possible”.

We’re incredibly proud to have been named Best International Airline – Online for the fifth year in a row. The fact that the award is chosen by the Travel Agents who work closely with many airlines makes the win that much sweeter and is largely in part due to our outstanding employees whose hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.

What was it do you think that helped you win this year?

Overall it’s a testament to our commitment to providing the best experience possible. Over the past 12 months we’ve expanded our global route network with new destinations including Zagreb bringing us to 39 European cities, improved our services to destinations such as Madrid and Casablanca and enhanced our on-board offerings.

We offer 20MB complementary on-board Wi-Fi for all passengers, new pyjamas and amenity kits for First and Business Class passengers and more than 2,500 channels on our award-winning inflight entertainment system ice.

How do you think the year ahead is looking so far?

There are lots of exciting things in the works including a third daily service to Brisbane which launches in December while our third daily Melbourne service is set to be upgraded to our iconic A380 aircraft from March next year. This will make Melbourne our second Australian all A380 service city alongside Sydney.

We’re also set to unveil our new redesigned First Class later this year which is the product of years of planning. This highlights our commitment to our passenger experience and that our aircraft, which are among the youngest in the industry, remain on the forefront of design.

There’s a lot to keep us busy but we look forward to the challenge and strive to continue exceeding our passenger’s expectations.
