Qantas has officially announced the resumption of two international flights – Perth–Auckland and Perth–Johannesburg – taking off again from December 2025 and now available to book. In addition, QF has discounted almost every domestic route with more than one million seats on sale.
The highly anticipated return of the Perth–Auckland and Perth–Jo’burg direct routes will unlock more connections for WA travellers across the Qantas network and beyond.
The inaugural Perth–Jo’burg flight will take off on 7 December 2025 with the Perth–Auckland route resuming on 8 December.

Both routes will operate thrice weekly on Qantas’ A330 aircraft with 27 business class seats and 224 economy seats.
At six hours and 45 minutes, the Perth to Auckland route will operate on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, while Perth–Johannesburg (around 11 hours and 15 minutes’ flight time) will depart on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
The new services will add more than 155,000 seats in and out of Perth each year and increase international connectivity for New Zealand and South Africa on the Qantas network and its global airline partner network.

Qantas CEO International Cam Wallace said: “We’re so excited to be launching two new international routes, unlocking more options and greater choice for all Australians to connect to the world through our growing network.”
“Our new Perth to Auckland route offers a convenient one-stop connection for West Australians to New York via Auckland on our popular QF3 service, while the new direct flight to Johannesburg provides a vital connection for customers in Perth to visit popular cities like Cape Town through our partnership with Airlink.”
