Qantas gets 'trendy' with supermodel Jessica Hart

Qantas' loyalty members will be the trendiest in the skies and on land, as part of a new agreement with supermodel Jessica Hart.

Qantas‘ loyalty members will be the trendiest in the skies and on land, as part of a new agreement with supermodel Jessica Hart.

The Australian born and New York-based model has received the title ‘Trend Consultant to Qantas’, which will see her use her fashion knowledge and lifestyle on select products that will benefit Qantas Frequent Flyers.

For example, the first project will see Qantas and Jessica work with leading Australian scarf designer, Bird and Knoll, to product a limited edition exclusive Bird and Knoll scarf.

The design of the scarf will be based on icons and images from one of Qantas’ ‘Feels like Home‘ destinations.

Welcoming the model and businesswoman to the airline, Group Executive Brand, Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Olivia Wirth said Jessica continues the line’s history of being fashion forward. This includes introducing Kate Spade amenity kits, award-winning Marc Newson designed lounges and Martin Grant designed crew and pilot uniforms.

“Jessica will bring a fresh eye to some terrific initiatives we are looking at and bring extra style to the Qantas travel experience, starting with the exclusive Bird and Knoll scarves.”

“While the scarf is the ideal fashion travel accessory, it will also promote the unique beauty of Australia, and as the country’s national carrier, we take great pride in flying the flag for home-grown fashion designers, destinations and talent.”

Perfect for the new ‘trend’ role, Jessica says travel is not only a passion, but a major inspiration to her fashion and style.

“I love expressing myself through fashion and I believe style evolves as a result of different experiences and travel is a gateway to those experiences.”

“I am really excited about partnering with Qantas. Contributing to travel style is something I have always dreamed of so I am excited it’s becoming a reality. I already have a number of ideas I can’t wait to share with the Qantas team.”

Last month, Qantas revealed it had appointed Australian fashion designer, Martin Grant to finish dressing its staff, by designing new pilot uniforms.

Martin first teamed up with the airline in 2013 when he designed the popular new image for the Flying Kangaroo’s cabin crew and ground staff.

The airline also recently opened the doors to its completely renovated Los Angeles Business Lounge, which is now three times the size of what it use to be.
