Qantas has opened the doors to its new Qantas Domestic Business Lounge at Perth Airport and according to Aussie model Megan Gale, ‘it feels like home’.
Megan Gale, the Perth-born celebrity, was among the first to cross the threshold into the Flying Kangaroo’s new Western Australia space during a special launch lunch this week.
The new airport lounge is latest in a string of initiatives by the carrier to set a new benchmark in business travel. It follows the recent completion of the major LA lounge upgrade and a new partnership with the renowned Rockpool Restaurant Group to select special drinks for its lounges around the world.

Inside the Perth lounge around 350 people can unwind before their flight in distinct zones split by dining, work and relaxation.
Customers travelling through the lounge will be the first to enjoy the two brands’ new Business Lounge dining concepts – an Italian pizza bar with a pizza chef; and a wine bar where customers can sit and enjoy barista coffee and freshly made croissants in the morning or a glass of wine and canapés in the evening.
The new lounge features menus designed by Neil Perry, a ‘make your own’ juice station in the morning, cocktail hour from 4 – 5pm on weekdays with cocktails designed by the Rockpool Mixology team and fresh hot and cold buffet.
Customers can also enjoy a ‘plate of the day’ from the central island dining tables on weekdays. This includes dishes such as baked eggs with chorizo and feta in the morning and gourmet cheese plates in the evening.
The Perth lounge was designed by Woods Bagot and according to Qantas draws on regional influences through architectural finishes based on the unique Western Australian landscape such as terracotta and metallic feature walls representing the mineral-rich soil.
As a frequent traveller, Gale said it’s important to have access to comfortable space to work and relax prior to a flight – and that’s exactly what she says Qantas has delivered.
“I love the local design influences, it’s so nice to walk into something that feels like home.”

As well as offering ultimate comfort and access to high quality foods and beverages, Qantas Domestic CEO, Andrew David, said the new airport lounge will also deliver between travel and airport experiences for Qantas’ Business and First Class passengers.
What he means by this is they’ll have access to faster security screening, quicker check-in and more lounge facilities.
“This lounge sets the new benchmark in business travel and represents the future of the Qantas Business Lounge in Australia.”
Andrew David, Qantas Domestic CEO
“The lounge has been designed with our most frequent travellers from WA in mind.
“It accommodates the mix of corporate, leisure and fly-in fly-out workers with business facilities, a sports lounge to relax and socialise, and dining areas with single and communal seating.”
