Back by popular demand – Qantas has reintroduced the Perth-Singapore route to its network, resuming flights between the two cities.

QF71 departed on Friday afternoon from Perth bound for Singapore – the first Qantas aircraft to fly on the route since June last year.

It’s the first of five return service to fly on the route per week on the Boeing 737 aircraft.

According to Gareth Evans, Qantas International CEO, after taking the service away last year the airline received feedback from travellers saying ‘they missed us’.

“So with the right strategy and the right aircraft on the right route, we’ve come back to meet that demand.”

The airline announced its return in April this year.

Evans says customers ‘jumped’ on bookings after the announcement, with many keen on early evening arrival in Singapore for connecting flights to the rest of Asia.

Qantas gives Aussies more connections to Singapore.

“Many of our codeshare partners have also been attracted to our Perth-Singapore schedule, adding their code to the Qantas flights, with nine carriers now marketing the services to their customers,” he said.

“This is great news for tourism in Western Australia, with the route being promoted to more international customers than ever before.”

Customers flying on Qantas’ 737 between Perth and Singapore will have access to seat back in-flight entertainment and Economy meals.

The aircraft has 12 dedicated Business Class cabins featuring Neil Perry menus and amenity kits from Kate Spade and Jack Spade.
