Qantas will resume nonstop international flights from South Australia with the inaugural Adelaide–Auckland flight taking off on 31 October 2025. SA passengers can also now access Adelaide Airport’s first Qantas Domestic Business Lounge.
The nonstop ADL–AKL service will also allow SA flyers to connect to North America via New Zealand on QF’s Auckland–New York route.
It will add more than 30,000 seats between the two capital cities with launch return economy fares from $699 for travel on selected dates between 31 October 2025 and 28 March 2026.
The new seasonal route will operate four times per week on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday until 3 May 2026 on a Boeing B787-800 aircraft.
New Qantas Domestic Business Lounge at ADL

In addition, Adelaide Airport welcomes its first Qantas Domestic Business Lounge, which can accommodate up to 190 passengers in the 1,016sqm space.

Designed in collaboration with Architectus, the new lounge aims to capture the essence of South Australia, reflecting three iconic locations: Adelaide Botanic Gardens, Adelaide Central Markets and Kangaroo Island’s Flinders Chase National Park.

It will also introduce the Market Kitchen in mid-2025, a signature concept featuring a live cooking station inspired by the Adelaide Central Markets, celeb chef Maggie Beer and statewide producers.

Eighty per cent of seats will have access to power stations, including USB-A/C and wireless charging mats, so passengers can charge their devices before flying.

Qantas Group CEO International Cam Wallace celebrated the two milestones: Launching the direct international flight and ADL’s first Qantas Business Lounge.
“This is fantastic news for our South Australian customers who will have access to a direct international flight to Auckland as well as opening up connections to New York via Auckland,” he said.
“For the millions of customers [who] visit our lounges, we know just how important it is to have a premium pre-flight experience and we’re so pleased to be bringing this to Adelaide. The new lounge has been designed based off feedback and the features we know our customers’ value the most.”

Adelaide Airport Managing Director Brenton Cox added: “We’re excited to welcome Qantas international services back to Adelaide, offering both a direct service to Auckland and opening up an excellent one-stop connection with New York.”
“We also welcome the wonderful new Business Lounge featuring great local produce in keeping with Adelaide Airport’s overall retail philosophy to showcase the best of South Australia.”
A brand-new Qantas Club also opened at Adelaide Airport late last year.
