Tourism Fiji’s efforts over the last year & the Fiji Water stunt at the Golden Globes has transformed Fiji into a hot destination for 2019 & Qantas wants in on the action.

Commencing 31 March 2019, Qantas will return to Fiji after nearly 20 years with a four times per week (Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) between Sydney and Nadi on its Boeing 737 aircraft.

Describing the new route as one that meets demand for a “premium travel option” to Fiji, the airfares will include checked baggage allowance, inflight entertainment, food and drinks. Travellers will also have the option to fly or upgrade to Busines Class.

The new service will not replace Jetstar’s four times weekly service to Nadi, but rather compliment it by bringing the Qantas Group’s seat numbers to Fiji beyond 75,000 per year.

The Flying Kangaroo will also add its code to Jetstar’s flights between Sydney and Nadi, for travel from 1 February 2019, allowing Qantas customers travelling on the Jetstar codeshare service to enjoy additional benefits, including the opportunity for Qantas Frequent Flyers to earn points and status credits and a complimentary meal.

“The combination of Qantas and Jetstar also means we can provide more options to a destination which caters to different budgets and tastes, with good interstate connections for passengers travelling from other parts of Australia.”

Alison Webster, Qantas International Chief Executive

The premium Australian airline will also continue its existing codeshare partnership with Fiji Airways on services to Nadi.

To celebrate the new flights, Qantas is offering a special sale fare of $269 one-way, available from 21 to 23 January 2019 for travel from 31 March 2019.
