Reboot on arrival: Virgin Australia brings back lounge access for arriving flyers

How good? From April 25, eligible Virgin Australia passengers will be welcomed back into the airline’s domestic lounges to refresh on arrival after their VA flight has touched down.

This nifty little benefit returns after a two-year break and will undoubtedly add more value to the overall lounge membership and Virgin Australia Business Flyer proposition.

Arriving at any of Virgin Australia’s seven domestic lounges from April 25 will enable you to spend sixty minutes inside the hallowed walls of the lounges.

This means precious time to grab a coffee and a snack (at no extra expense) and a comfy seat to do some work, charge your devices or make a couple of calls before you exit the airport and head off to your next destination.

Who can access the Virgin Australia Lounges on arrival?

  • Members of the invitation-only VIP member Beyond tier

However, access will not be open to paid-up lounge members and will be subject to capacity in the lounge. This means that access on arrival may not be possible at peak times if the lounges are full.

The airline also recently announced it would further reward its small to medium-sized business (SME) customers and entice new customers under a new rewards program called Virgin Australia Business Flyer.

Featuring a range of benefits to build loyalty, Virgin Australia Group CEO Jayne Hrdlicka said that the airline represents excellent value for Australian small to medium-sized businesses.

“Virgin Australia has always played an important role in the travel needs of small and medium-sized businesses and our team has been working hard over the last 15 months to re-imagine the best way to bring value to this part of our customer base,” Hrdlicka said during a media briefing.

“Today’s announcement is the beginning of our journey to add even higher levels of value to this community and ensure that we fiercely compete for our fair share of our heartland customers,” she said.
