Rex has entered a new interline partnership with Etihad Airways to provide its passengers with convenient connections via Sydney or Melbourne to the global carrier’s extensive network under one booking and itinerary without rechecking their baggage.

The commercial agreement will offer increased revenue, access to new markets and expanded travel options by coordinating ticketing, baggage handling and check-in services for domestic passengers.

From 11 March 2024, Rex flights are available for sale via the EY website, travel advisors and online travel agencies.

Rex General Manager of Network Strategy Warrick Lodge said the new partnership brings a new era of choice and connection for its customers and marks its second interline agreement after inking a deal with Delta Air Lines in October 2022.

“Equally, we are thrilled to extend a warm welcome to Rex customers, enabling them to seamlessly integrate into our expanding global network.”

The domestic carrier recently reduced some regional routes, citing ongoing supply chain disruptions from COVID-19.
