More Singapore: SQ bumps up BNE schedule to 25 weekly flights from November 2024

Singapore Airlines will introduce an additional four-times-weekly service between Brisbane and Singapore from November 2024 that will see SQ offer 25 direct weekly flights after its extra seasonal services have taken off in popularity.

Singapore Airlines will introduce an additional four-times-weekly service between Brisbane and Singapore from November 2024 that will see SQ offer 25 direct weekly flights after its extra seasonal services have taken off in popularity.

It follows strong demand for the airline’s four-times-weekly supplementary flights, currently available to 13 January 2024.

Operating on an Airbus A350-900 long-haul aircraft, the additional services will see SQ reach 99 per cent of pre-COVID capacity to Australia.

SQ Regional Vice President Louis Arul said that the introduction of a fourth service from Brisbane would provide more choice for Queenslanders, made possible as part of the state’s $200 million Attracting Aviation Investment Fund.

“It has been heartening to see the strong demand for travel to and from Brisbane. We are happy to deliver this additional frequency, which provides another option for travellers to Singapore and beyond to cities in Europe and Asia,” he said.

“We are particularly pleased to be able to announce this scheduled service one year in advance, giving our Queensland customers more departure times to choose from.”

Brisbane Airport CEO Gert-Jan de Graaff welcomed the strategic capacity boost, saying Singapore Airlines is critical to Queensland’s connectivity to Europe.

The additional SQ service will operate on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday from Brisbane to Changi from 28 November 2024 with tickets on sale from 10 December 2023.

SQ265 will depart Singapore Changi Airport at 07:05 local time and arrive in Brisbane at 16:55. SQ266 will depart Brisbane at 18:10 and arrive at Changi at 00:15 the next morning.

SQ recently announced a permanent fifth daily service from Sydney to Changi, commencing 27 October 2024.
