South Australians (and other Aussies), get ready for more flights to Singapore. Singapore Airlines has just announced that it will increase Adelaide-Singapore services for the next northern winter and summer seasons, boosting travel and tourism between South Australia and one of Asia’s most exciting cities.
As part of a host of route changes for the carrier, Adelaide will see flights rise from a daily service (seven per week) to 10 times per week across the northern winter 2024 and northern summer 2025.
According to the airline’s website, the additional service (SQ276) will commence flying on 27 October, with flights departing Adelaide Airport on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 6.35pm and arriving at Changi Airport at 10.55pm.
Return flights (SQ277) leave Changi on the same day at 8.05am and land in SA at 5.20pm.
The airline will utilise its B787-10 aircraft for the extra flights.
Global gains
Elsewhere, the airline will grow flights to London Gatwick to a daily service (up from a five-times-weekly service) from 30 March 2025. This grows SQ’s capacity to London to five daily flights (combined with its four-times-weekly service to London Heathrow).
Rome flights will also increase to five times per week between 26 June and 28 August 2025, up from four flights a week.
Between 24 June and 7 September 2025, Singapore will also up direct flights between Singapore and Milan, and Singapore and Barcelona. Barcelona will see five direct weekly flights, up from two, while Milan will have daily service, up from four times a week.
Meanwhile, flights to Ho Chi Minh City will increase to three times daily, and Siem Reap flights will double to twice daily.
Elsewhere, Johannesburg will receive three additional weekly flights from December 2024 to January 2025, and April to October 2025, bringing the total to 10 flights per week during these periods.
Finally, SQ will return its A380 to Tokyo Narita between 30 March and 31 May 2025 on one of its two daily services, upgauging from its B787-10.
Meanwhile, Singapore Airlines will replace aircraft on certain routes including to Mumbai and Delhi and suspend Houston via Manchester services from 1 April 2025.
The carrier says all seasonal increases are in response to growing passenger demand.
“Singapore Airlines regularly reviews our network and routes to align our capacity with demand,” Singapore Airlines Acting Senior Vice President Marketing Planning Dai Haoyu said.
“These adjustments, ahead of next summer, cater to the higher demand to several destinations, particularly during the traditional mid-year peak travel season, enabling our customers to confidently make their 2025 travel plans.
“We look forward to connecting our customers to the world with SIA’s extensive network, and delivering an unparalleled travel experience.”
Two weeks ago, Singapore Airlines announced it would also be increasing capacity between Brisbane and Changi, returning a fourth weekly service on the route.
