SKIP ATHENS: Qatar Airways launches non-stop flights to party island MYKONOS

In the words of 90s Euro dance sensation, the Vengaboys, ‘we (Aussies) like to party’ and Qatar Airways is helping us do it in Europe’s party paradise, Mykonos.

The carrier commenced direct flights from Qatar’s capital, Doha, to Mykonos this week, giving Aussies a one-stop service to the Greek Island.

That’s right, instead of flying via the Middle East or Asia to Athens and then onwards to Mykonos, Aussies can now cut Athens out of the equation and get the beach party started sooner.

The seasonal A320 service will run until 30 September with four-times weekly flights operating on Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday. Guests will be able to choose from 12 Business Class seats or 132 Economy Seats.

Qatar Airways Group’s Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, said the carrier is “thrilled” to be able to give flyers more options for Greece, including easier services to the “beautiful island of Mykonos”.

“We are looking forward to further enhancing this relationship, connecting Mykonos to Qatar Airways’ extensive global network and helping to open up and develop these attractive destinations for business and leisure travellers from around the world.”

So c’mon Aussies, put your ‘wheels in motion’ because ‘happiness is just around’ the Qatar corner.
