SNEAK PEEK: Get a GOOD LOOK at the new Qantas Club at Melbourne Airport

Phase one of Qantas' two-phase Melbourne Airport domestic lounge redevelopment is COMPLETE, with the carrier unveiling the new Qantas Club today.

Phase one of Qantas’ two-phase Melbourne Airport domestic lounge redevelopment is COMPLETE, with the carrier unveiling the new Qantas Club today.

Let’s backtrack a little.

In January, Qantas began a major renovation of its Qantas Club and Business Lounge at Melbourne Airport.

The carrier said the lounge upgrade would be completed in stages – first the Qantas Club and then the Business Lounge – so as to allow ongoing access to the high-end space during the rebuild.

Nearly four months later, Qantas has finished the first stage of construction and is ready to show off its new modern features and furnishings TODAY!

As KARRYON and its readers couldn’t be there for the grand unveil, the airline’s PR team were kind enough to give us a sneak peek of the space through a few pre-opening pictures.

Guests visiting the Qantas Club will be welcomed by a new guest reception and they’ll enjoy drinks at a refreshed bar…

Construction on the new Business Lounge will commence this week and is set to finish by September. Although it will have its own distinct interior design, it will also have similar features to the Club such as an all-day barista coffee service, seasonal dining, hydration station and increased device charging access points.

The carrier’s Head of Product Strategy & Development, Philip Capps, said customer feedback was ‘front of mind’ throughout the comprehensive redesign and hopes they appreciate the “contemporary design and extra seating, and of course the barista coffee”.

“We know renovations can be less than ideal, but the build is progressing well, and the end result will be two brand new lounges that will provide a comfortable start to customers’ journeys.”
