Travellers are always looking to bag a bargain for their next holiday with airfares a top consideration when it comes to budgets. These recently booked domestic and overseas routes offer great value for Aussies with one-way fares starting from just AUD$44.
Travel aggregator site Agoda crunched the data to uncover the cheapest domestic and international flights for Aussies booked on the digital travel platform from 1-15 August 2023 for domestic and international departures in September and October this year.
Based on actual bookings including all taxes and fees, Sydneysiders had the lowest airfare options available for domestic and short-haul routes, while Perth residents can take advantage of bargain prices for international flights.
For local escapes, Aussies can enjoy a bargain break in the Northern Rivers with a one-way airfare from Ballina Byron Bay to Sydney for AUD$44, making it the cheapest domestic flight booked this month.
For short-haul routes, a Sydney–Nadi one-way flight costs just AUD$223 in August, transporting Aussies to the Fijian islands in four hours for an ideal weekend getaway.
Even cheaper, a one-way international flight from Perth to Kuala Lumpur was recently booked for AUD$183. With a flying time of under six hours, it’s a discount deal to experience Malaysian culture and cuisine.
While fares can fluctuate with demand, Agoda Director Oceania Zsuzsanna Janos said travellers who are flexible with carriers, routes, dates and timings can find amazing flight deals.
