American Airlines believes in making the flying experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. In fact, they’ve already invested over $5 billion AUD to take the customer experience to the next level.

We’ll tell you exactly where that money has gone in a minute, but first it’s exciting to point out that American Airlines has introduced a new Premium Economy service on the Sydney/Auckland to Los Angeles route – a first for any American carrier in the region.

Premium economy is extremely popular, due to its enhanced comfort, featuring wider leather seats with more legroom, expandable foot, leg and head rests, upgraded meals served with complimentary wine, beer, and spirits, next-level amenity kits; which include noise-reducing headphones and a Casper signature inspired duvet, innovative lumbar pillow and the perfect pair of pyjamas, and of course free seatback entertainment with over 250 entertainments options.

And whilst we’re talking about all these new things, did you know that American Airlines has invested in their fleet, and taken delivery of hundreds of new aircraft, giving them the most new planes of any airline in the world?

But let’s get back to that $5 billion AUD investment and look just how (and where) American Airlines has taken the customer experience to the next level…

Part of American Airlines’ billion dollar investment has gone into all-new Flagship™ Lounges currently at JFK, ORD , and LAX (and soon to be at MIA, DFW and PHL in the coming year).

Business and First Class passengers flying through these airports will feel like royalty as they get to tuck into chef-inspired meals, grab a drink between flights at the premium wine table or specialty cocktail bar, catch up on work or rest in comfort on the expansive seating, or just freshen up courtesy of the shower suites.

Available at New York’s JFK airport, LAX and soon to be at MIA, and DFW, American Airlines has introduced its Flagship™ First Dining experience, which is a one-of-a-kind, pre-flight meal with full table-side service in an elegant setting.

With multi-course menus inspired by regional dishes and using only locally sourced ingredients, Flagship™ First Dining deliciously guarantees that your holiday gets off to an amazing start! This new service is a first for any U.S. carrier and again demonstrates American Airlines’ commitment to treating its customers like royalty.

They’re also continually investing in staff facilities and training too, so they can deliver the very best service to guests. For example, American expanded its Lead the Experience leadership training beyond corporate officers to frontline team members, and it’s anticipated that 35,000 airport and reservation team members will have received this training by the end of this year.

Just recently, the airline also launched its first employee survey in well over a decade, which will provide more information to support frontline team members and ensure a flawless customer experience for your clients.

AMERICAN AIRLINES ADMIRALS CLUB® LOUNGES

Last but not least, American Airlines has not only refreshed its network of Admirals Club® lounges around the world (currently numbering over 100), but they’ve also opened new locations at Toronto’s Pearson International (YYZ), Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) and Orlando’s International (MCO) airports.

Ensuring that your time spent between/before flights is more productive and relaxing, Admirals Club® lounges offer complimentary food (including made-to-order specialities) and drink, power ports, fast (and free) Wi-Fi, and even shower suites (in selected locations). Access to the Admirals Club® lounge is based on membership, elite status or ticketed class of service.
