Tigerair Australia is catering to growing demand for flights along the east coast with additional services between NSW, Queensland and Melbourne.
Commencing 18 September, the airline will add two additional weekly services between Melbourne and the Gold Coast.
The services will depart Melbourne on Friday and Saturday at 10.10am and return to Gold Coast at 12.40pm.
The flights are in addition to the airline’s current three return services, bringing operations on the route to four times daily return each way. It will deliver 700 additional seats each week.
Commencing 25 October, Tigerair will also fly from Sydney to Whitsunday Coast Airport on Sunday.
Tigerair Australia launched three weekly return services between the two popular destinations in April last year. Earlier this year, the airline added an additional Monday service in peak school holidays periods to cater for increased demand at these times.
The new Sunday services will depart Sydney at 9:10am and return from Whitsunday Coast at 11:15am.
Tigerair Australia Commercial Director Adam Rowe said the additional services are part of the airline’s commitment to flying where ‘demand dictates’.
“As a volume based business, Tigerair flies where demand dictates in order to build a sustainable business in the Australian domestic market and pass on consistently great value fares to our customers.”

Tigerair also recently increased services on the popular Sydney – Gold Coast route from two to up to four daily return services.
