Blame it on auto-correct! That’s what Cathay Pacific employees may want to do after the name of the carrier was accidentally misspelt on the outside of a plane.
While updating a Boeing 777-367s livery, staff unintentionally (we assume) painted ‘Cathay Paciic’ instead of ‘Cathay Pacific’.
The error was spotted by the carrier, but not before the picture of the incorrect livery went viral on social media.
Thankfully the airline’s marketing team were quick to find humour in the situation by sharing a picture of the spelling mistake and saying the “special livery won’t last long”.
Oops this special livery won’t last long! She’s going back to the shop!

Although the airline hasn’t commented further on the situation, it didn’t say that the plane would return to the factory for a quick correction.
Meanwhile, the internet was quick to offer alternative solutions to the error, including one Twitter user who suggested keeping it as is but adding a ‘^’ and ‘f’ between the two i’s

Then there was another Twitter user who suggested making the brand change fleet-wide and even upgrading uniforms to reflect the new spelling.
