Virgin Australia triples reward seats on select international routes in 2025

Velocity members will have triple the opportunity to nab a Reward Seat on select Virgin Australia long-haul flights between Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Doha when the airline launches its new Qatar Airways codeshare services in June 2025.

Velocity members will have triple the opportunity to nab a Reward Seat on select Virgin Australia long-haul flights between Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Doha when the airline launches its new Qatar Airways codeshare services in June 2025.

The Reward Seat availability on flights between Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Doha applies to travel between 12 June and 10 December 2025 for both Economy and Business Class, including Qsuite, on Qatar Airways’ Boeing B777 aircraft.

Velocity Frequent Flyer members can redeem Points for Reward Seats in Business Class Qsuite from 89,500 Points (Perth to Doha one-way) and from 119,500 Points (Sydney/Brisbane to Doha one-way), plus taxes, fees and carrier charges.

Economy Class is available from 42,000 Points (Perth to Doha one-way) and from 56,000 Points (Sydney/Brisbane to Doha one-way), plus taxes, fees and carrier charges.

The expansion responds to soaring demand for redemption seats with 97 per cent of Velocity members rating Reward Seats as their most valued way to redeem Points.

Virgin Australia’s expanded partnership with Qatar Airways increases access for Australian flyers to key destinations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa with connections through Hamad International Airport.

The new Virgin Australia services are scheduled to start from Sydney to Doha on 12 June, Brisbane to Doha on 19 June, Perth to Doha on 26 June and Melbourne to Doha on 1 December (subject to regulatory approval).

Velocity Frequent Flyer CEO Nick Rohrlach said Virgin Australia is making a big investment to support its new flights ahead of the European summer season.

“The tripling of Reward Seats available to our Velocity members between Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Doha means that international travel is more accessible than ever,” he said.
