Virgin Australia’s cabin crew are flying high after being recognised as the World’s Best Cabin Crew for the seventh consecutive year in the just-released AirlineRatings.com 2025 Airline Excellence Awards – one of three accolades.
Virgin Australia’s WA-based regional and charter business, Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA), was also awarded the World’s Best Regional Airline for the second year in a row.
The Australian carrier ranked third behind JetBlue and WestJet in the newly introduced global Hybrid Airlines category, which recognises airlines that combine features of both low-cost carriers (LCCs) and full-service airlines.

The Airline Excellence Awards celebrate the industry’s best airlines and rate more than 380 airlines considered against strict criteria including safety, value, passenger comfort and innovation.
These wins follow Virgin Australia’s significant investment in guest experience and innovation in the past four years, including new aircraft, new aircraft interiors with upgraded seats, in-seat power, Wi-Fi, and other industry-first innovations.
Virgin Australia Group CEO Jayne Hrdlicka said the wins reflect the team’s significant contribution and recognise the aviation company’s “very special culture”.
“As a challenger brand at heart, we’re always striving to go above and beyond and set a new bar for ourselves in terms of choice, value and service. Earning the title of World’s Best Cabin Crew for the seventh consecutive time makes me immensely proud of the experience our people consistently deliver on board.

“Earning third place in the Top 20 Hybrid Airlines category, alongside a number of our world-class airline partners, means our guests can fly with confidence knowing they’re choosing excellence when flying with us and all of our partners.
“Our WA regional operation forms a critical part of our business and has continued to grow as we’ve simplified our fleet and rebuilt our airline. I’m so thrilled that our team’s commitment to delivering wonderful service, reliability and performance has been recognised on a global scale,” she said.
Other Australian and New Zealand carriers were recognised with Jetstar taking second place in the LCC list and Air New Zealand (3) pipping Qantas (8) on the full-service airline rankings.
