Virginaustralia.com is relaunching direct hotel and car rental deals

Virgin Australia’s new booking platform will offer the airline’s customers and Velocity Frequent Flyer members direct access to more than 400,000 hotel rooms, and car rental offers worldwide through a partnership powered by OTA Rocket Travel through Booking.com and Agoda.

Virgin Australia’s new booking platform will offer the airline’s customers and Velocity Frequent Flyer members direct access to more than 400,000 hotel rooms, and car rental offers worldwide through a partnership powered by OTA Rocket Travel through Booking.com and Agoda.

It will be the first time Virgin Australia has provided hotel and car rental options through one industry partner since the airline was relaunched two years ago.

VA says the new partnership is designed to unlock more value and seamless travel options, as well as increase the ways that the 10.8 million-plus Velocity members can earn and redeem Points with the loyalty program’s Points, earn and Points + pay now available at checkout.

Velocity Frequent Flyer members who make an eligible hotel booking by 13 September 2022 can also earn triple Points, the equivalent of 9 Points per $1 spent, plus 1,000 bonus Points on eligible car rental bookings made by 30 September 2022 for travel until 28 February 2023.

Rocket Travel is part of the same holding company as Booking.com and Agoda and will provide a simple booking process for Virgin Australia customers through the ‘Hotels and Car Hire’ tab on the airline’s websites and apps, Virgin Australia Group CCO Dave Emerson said.

“Virgin Australia is committed to always providing the best value and experience to our customers at every step of the travel journey, and the relaunch of a hotels and car rental deals platform is a great example of that,” he said.
