Virgin’s new all-in-one flight calendar puts fares, points and reward seats side by side

Virgin Australia is streamlining the way customers search flights, launching a new tool that brings multiple fare types into one view. The airline says the feature is an Australian-first and aims to simplify booking decisions.

The new all-in-one calendar combines cash fares, Points + Pay and Velocity Frequent Flyer Reward Seats in a single monthly display, allowing users to compare pricing, availability and cabin types without running multiple searches.

By integrating reward seat availability into the same interface, the tool gives a clearer picture of options for both points and cash bookings. Virgin says this will help customers identify value more quickly and plan trips with greater flexibility.

The feature is being rolled out progressively across the airline’s website and app, with full access expected by mid-year.

Over time, the calendar will expand to include flights operated by Virgin Australia’s international partner airlines.

Virgin Australia General Manager, Digital, Alex Plummer reduces friction in the booking process.

“Today, customers are typically limited to searching one route at a time, which can make it difficult to compare options and find the best value,” he said.

“This changes that, where for the first time, customers can see every available way to book flights in a single calendar view, unlocking far greater choice across dates and fares.

“It’s a step change in the booking experience, giving customers a simpler, more transparent way to find the flights that work best for them.”

The update builds on Virgin Australia‘s broader focus on digital innovation, following recent initiatives including baggage tracking and expanded booking capabilities. Earlier this year, the carrier also rolled out changes to its carry-on baggage policy. Read more about that here.
