We dare you not to cry during this Air New Zealand Christmas video

We think we have a little dust in our eyes, we can't seem to be able to control the water pouring out of them during Air New Zealand's Christmas video.

We think we have a little dust in our eyes, we can’t seem to be able to control the water pouring out of them during Air New Zealand’s Christmas video.

The carrier has released its annual Christmas video and this year is a little different from the rest.

Moving away from its usual comedic and celebrity-infused productions, Air New Zealand’s latest video has a softer nature, focusing on the spirit of giving over the holidays.

The video follows the story of young Archie who was concerned Santa wouldn’t be able to find him after he moved from Broome in Western Australia to Queensberry near Wanaka.

His dad recruited Air New Zealand to create a flashing sign around his new home that’s big enough to be seen by any man dressed in red and flying around with a dozen or so reindeer attached to his sleigh.

While Archie’s story didn’t receive the same traction as Air New Zealand’s ‘Men in Black’ video, it has caused a mass explosion of tears to some 42,000 viewers in Australia and New Zealand.

Air New Zealand’s Head of Global Brand Development Jodi Williams said the video was created for the Australian market to encourage expats and Australian holiday makers alike to experience the beauty of New Zealand in summer.

“This Meanwhile in New Zealand episode feels extra special for Australians, by featuring a family which has returned from living in Western Australia.”

Archie’s mum Sam Davidson said the response to the video has been overwhelming and her son has been buzzing following his new found fame.

“Archie is now pretty confident Santa is going to find him this year.”
