What could make flying easier? Ice cream!

I scream, you scream we all scream for ice cream on planes! They said it, but we were all thinking it - flying would be sooooo much better if airlines served ice cream.

I scream, you scream we all scream for ice cream on planes! They said it, but we were all thinking it – flying would be sooooo much better if airlines served ice cream.

A new study commissied by Geckos Adventures found young travellers [and by young we mean pre-teens] believe air travel would be made exponentially better with ice cream.

It may seem small [and a little childish to some], but an icy, chocolaty treat mid-flight would lift people’s spirits [mostly because of the serotonin it releases in the brain] and make them a whole lot keener to fly.

“The results are astonishing but they’re conclusive. We’re all just going to have to start eating more ice cream. I, for one, never saw any of this coming.”

Africa will be the destination for travellers seeking something ‘new’.

The study also found the young ones believe the more popular travel destinations for those seeking something new are Africa, Russia and Greenland [maybe they want to visit Santa?].

They think New Zealand will have an influx of older travellers this year, while younger travellers will steer away from the country.

Top travel tips for 2015 include wearing a seatbelt at all times, not becoming bored and avoiding sharp items in your carry-on.

New Zealand will experience a decline in younger travellers.

The strongest piece of advice for travellers – to “have ice cream” on their travels this year – came from Isabeau, who says of her travel expertise: “My dad has a map in the kitchen and sometimes he asks me about countries on it.”

“We conducted this research to see what the year ahead had in store for us. But we didn’t expect to end up with findings that have such global significance.”
